Do's & Don'ts

These rules apply on every post, in every campaign. Campaign pages may add more on top of these — never less.

  • Be yourself. Your audience followed you, not us.
  • Tag the correct Sweet James handle on every post:

    - California & Arizona: @sweetjameslaw
    - Georgia: @sweetjamesga.

    If you're unsure which handle to use, check your campaign page or contact your campaign manager.
  • Use approved assets only, from the relevant campaign page.
  • Keep it brand-safe — clean environments, no third-party logos on camera.
  • Follow the FTC disclosure rules below on every single post.
✕ Don't
  • Promise outcomes or dollar amounts.
  • Give legal advice. Refer people to sweetjames.com.
  • Use music without rights — including trending sounds.
  • Use AI faces, deepfakes, or name competing firms.
  • Bury or skip disclosure, even if it feels excessive.

This is the most important section on this page. It applies to every affiliate, on every platform, for every campaign — read it in full before you post anything.

Disclosure Placement — Read This First

  • All affiliates in this program receive compensation. That means FTC disclosure is mandatory on every post — no exceptions, no conditions. There is no version of this program where disclosure is optional.
  • #ad in the FIRST LINE of every caption. Before your text, before the "see more" truncation.
  • Video: on-screen + spoken in the first 3 seconds. Caption-only is not enough.
  • Platform "Paid Partnership" tags alone are not sufficient. You still need #ad.
  • Both you and Sweet James are liable if disclosure is missing or buried — even if your agreement says otherwise. Under the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), Sweet James is independently liable for your disclosure failures, which is why this rule is non-negotiable.

Caption Format — Correct Order

Every paid post caption must follow this exact order. Do not rearrange — the disclosure and legal disclaimer both need to be visible before the "see more" truncation. Your creative text can go below the fold; the legally-required parts can't.

📹 Video Content — Extra Requirements
